Jaldesa community conservancy are involved in:

• Wildlife Security and conservation- this is the core activity of the organization, with the support of community scouts there is day to day data collection and monitoring of wildlife and response to human wildlife conflicts. The conservancy is endowed with wildlife species ranging from: African elephants, lions, Thompson gazelles, greater and lesser kudu, zebra, giraffe, baboons, buffaloes, leopards, antelopes, ostrich, cheetah, tortoise, hyenas and different bird species. The vegetation is characterized by grassland with acacia tree species, Acacia species , Grewia (Aroress, Ogomdi, Deka), Commiphora (Amess, Agarsu) Cordia (Madera) Dichrostachis (Jirime), Boswellia (Thakar)
• Livelihood development- this includes water, education and health activities. For water, the conservancy has supported local water resources users through effective training of the borehole management committees, rehabilitation and maintenance support of community boreholes, provision of more than one hundred, 5000 liters capacity plastic water tanks to victims of human elephant conflicts and vulnerable households. For Education we have supported schools within the conservancy with Food rations, learning materials and exposure towards health outreach services in collaboration with the County health centers and dispensaries.
• Rangelands planning and management. In collaboration with local leaders and traditional grazing committee elders, Jaldesa Community Conservancy engages in wet and dry seasons planning, support livestock movement planning, support community elders in coming up with grazing by-laws, afforestation and reafforestation programs, rehabilitation of degraded areas, training and exposure tours for local grazing committees among others.
• Women and Youths knowledge and skills development– we are helping communities grow and diversify their economy through livestock production(Ufugaji Bora Mashinani), job creation, skill development(Ujuzi Manyattani) and enterprise development.
• Peace and cohesion. – Jaldesa Community Conservancy actively plans and organizes inter conservancy peace engagements and collaborate with other peace actors within Marsabit county for lasting peace and development by responding to resources-based conflicts.
